A Tree and Shrub Planting “Completes” the Landscape
At Green Monster Landscapes we have always excelled in the installation of retaining walls using natural stone or concrete block. We also install thousands of square feet of concrete pavers every year. These elements of the landscape, known as “hardscapes,” are essential for form and structure in any landscaping plan. Once installed, they provide a sense of permanence and antiquity to even the newest of properties.
However, a perfectly executed hardscape installation will feel as though it’s missing something without a well-thought-out and carefully implemented landscape planting. A planting of selected trees, shrubs, and perennial flowers – the “softscape” element of the landscape plan – completes the hardscaping project. Landscape plantings bring a hardscape to life.
As landscape designers in New Hampshire, designing a landscape using trees, shrubs, and flowering perennials is something we thoroughly enjoy. There are so many unique plants that thrive in New England! Through a careful selection of these plant materials, we can create an atmosphere of peace and balance, one that welcomes the visitor and draws them in using a wide variety textures and colors.
The attention to detail does not stop at the drawing board. We hand select the trees and shrubs that will be installed in your landscaping project from several local plant nurseries in New Hampshire. We will not purchase unhealthy plants just because they are readily available and expedient. If a variety that is in our landscape plan does not look good at the nursery, we will substitute that plant for a different variety that is healthier, or we will search our local resources until we find one that suits us.
When your plants arrive, they are quickly installed in a special soil blend designed for New Hampshire landscapes. Great care is taken in handling of these plants, especially the trees, to ensure that they quickly take to their new location and begin providing you with the full beauty of a mature landscape as quickly as possible. If you so desire, we will return annually to inspect, prune, and make recommendations for the continued health of your plants.
